Cheesy Quick Bread … this is my mom’s recipe and it is so tasty! It comes together in a snap and is the perfect companion for all your fall soups. I also like this for breakfast with scrambled eggs. 🍞🍳🍲
Ingredients:
1 3/4 c. All Purpose Flour (I use half whole wheat and half all purpose)
1/4 c. White Sugar
2 1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
3/4 tsp Salt
1 c. Shredded Cheese
1 Egg, beaten
3/4 c. Milk
3/4 c. Veg Oil
1 Tbsp Dried Chives (optional)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400°. Lightly grease a 9 x 5 loaf pan. In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and cheese. In another bowl beat together egg, milk and oil. Stir the flour/cheese mixture into the egg mixture, stirring until just moistened. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center of loaf comes out clean. Cool five minutes in the pan. Roll out onto wire rack to cool completely.
