Grandma’s BBQ Brisket

Ingredients

  • 5-6 lb Brisket (can use smaller, just adjust the time!)

  • 3 oz. liquid smoke

  • Garlic Salt

  • Onion Salt

  • Celery Salt

  • Salt and pepper

  • Worcestershire Sauce

  • 6 – 8 oz BBQ Sauce of choice

Directions

  • Place brisket on a greased baking sheet or large casserole dish.
  • Drizzle liquid smoke over brisket. Sprinkle generously with celery salt, onion salt and garlic salt. Cover with foil and place in refrigerator overnight or minimum six hours.
  • The next day, pour off liquid. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Cover with foil. Allow brisket to rest at room temperature for 30 minutes before baking.
  • Bake 5 to 7 hours at 275°. (Bake about 4 hours for a 3-4lb brisket)
  • Remove from oven and pour barbecue sauce over brisket. Bake 1 more hour or until tender.
  • Remove from oven. Tent with foil and rest 20 minutes before cutting against the grain.
