The holidays aren’t complete unless we have Grandma’s Chow Mein Noodle salad. It has been a staple around our table since I was little. It’s prepped the day before making it super convenient for the upcoming holidays. One pan feeds a crowd. Win, win!
Chow Mein Noodle Salad

- Salad Ingredients
1 Head Iceberg Lettuce, completely dried and torn into bite-size pieces
1 Green Pepper, diced
6 Green Onions, diced
2 C. Celery, diced
1.5 C. Peas, frozen
1 C. Sliced Water Chestnuts, drained
2 C. Mayo
- Topping Ingredients
2 Tbsp. Sugar
1/2 C. Grated Parmesan Cheese
6 Slices crisp Bacon, crumbled
2 C. Chow Mein Noodles
1/4 tsp. Black Pepper
Directions
- In a large casserole dish (9×13 works great), layer the salad ingredients in the order listed.
- Mix topping ingredients together and pour over salad mixture.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight.
